1 Lord Mayor
Lord 'May·or n¿ Kultur?Lord Mayor ist der Titel für den Bürgermeister der City of London. Sein Amt ist nicht mit dem des Mayor of London zu verwechseln. Ersterer ist nur für die City zuständig, der zweite für das ganze Stadtgebiet von Greater London. Die Aufgaben des Lord Mayor sind hauptsächlich zeremonieller und weniger politischer Natur. Der Lord Mayor of London wird durch die Common Hall - Versammlung von Vertretern der Zünfte der Stadt für ein Jahr gewählt. Er wird am Lord Mayor's Day, am zweiten Freitag im November, in der Guildhall vereidigt. Die Prozession, die ihn dorthin begleitet, ist als die Lord Mayor's Show bekannt. -
